VENUS

Venus is almost the same size as Earth. Although it is further from the Sun than Mercury its surface is hotter because of its dense carbon dioxide atmosphere.

 

The planet is covered by clouds made of droplets of sulphuric acid which reflect the sunlight so that Venus is the brightest object in the sky apart from the Sun and Moon.
